King’s Academy Binfield and King’s Academy Oakwood at 10 Downing Street
On Thursday 30thMay, Di Smith (Director of Secondary Education) and Sarah Howells (Executive Principal, King’s Academy Binfield and King’s Academy Oakwood) attended a Reception at 10 Downing Street hosted by the Prime Minister, Theresa May.
The Reception was held to mark the opening of the latest wave of free schools. Both King’s Academy Binfield and King’s Academy Oakwood opened as part of this programme.
Damian Hinds, the Secretary of State for Education opened proceedings, followed by a speech by the Prime Minister during which she expressed gratitude to the academies present for their work, providing the very best education for their students.
We were privileged to be invited to attend such a prestigious event, especially during such a busy political period. The Reception culminated with an obligatory photo shoot in front of No.10!
