King’s Academy Ringmer (KAR) have won the prestigious Department for Education Sustainability Award at the Education Estates Awards this week. 

The judges said the impact of their work is significant, not only within the school but also for the community.  KAR is a shining example of ‘a Green School’ and deserves recognition for its fantastic Eco Warriors and staff. 

Sian Williams presented to the judges and, as well as talking about KAR’s Eco resources such as the wind turbine and the solar panels, she explained how KAR, through its curriculum and Eco hub, encourages the student body to ‘think like Environmentalists’. 

The DfE judge said it was this mission and Eco values that helped them make the final decision.
